In a busy world with full and active lives, it can be easy to let ourselves be carried along each day by the projects and work immediately at hand. And before you know it, days become weeks, and weeks become months – without taking time to check in with yourself!
This post is about taking a little time to focus on yourself by reflecting on your senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing – and the things that captivate them.
Identifying your favorites is a great outlet for letting your mind wander for a few moments … and remembering these favorites in times of stress can bring a nice sense of calm, the kind where you feel your shoulders drop and your breath exhale with a swoosh.
Along the lines of an earlier post on favorites, this one asks you to answer 5 things you like seeing, smelling, tasting, touching, and hearing. There are no right or wrong answers to the test – as long as you identify items that bring you joy or peace!
The five lists for your five answers are superimposed below on some of my photographs. Complete the lists for yourself – or share your answers with someone you’re close to – or guess the other person’s answers – or do all of these. The idea is to take a few minutes to concentrate on each of your senses and what you like – it’s a great way to check in with yourself.
My answers are at the bottom – because first and foremost, this is about you and your lists!
