Colors of the Fair

Back on March 1, 2020, we were just coming to know COVID-19 and had no idea the wild ride it would take us on.

The Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair was in full swing, and I’d planned to attend one night to photograph the sights and lights. My plans changed, though, and I ended up going that Sunday afternoon of March 1.

It was the last event I photographed before COVID quarantine sent most of us home to work and live, but I’ll never forget how stunningly blue the sky was that day, and all the beautiful, bright colors that come with a fair!

In 2021 I didn’t attend, but the 2022 Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair is coming up February 24 through March 6, and I’m planning to be back this year with camera in hand. With all the rides, foods, animals, games, and prizes, everybody’s a kid at the fair!

Today I came across my photographs of that fair day in 2020, and thought it would be fun to share some of them in anticipation of this year’s Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair.

Enjoy the fair!
