All the places I usually go to photograph flowers were heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian, and visits aren’t possible yet. Last week I saw a $4 bunch of mixed flowers in the grocery store and bought them, desperately wanting to see and photograph something beautiful.

For the past four days, I’ve photographed and posted selected flowers from the bunch. Today they were fading, so I carefully deconstructed them by hand — petal by petal, leaf by leaf — so I could make flat lay designs with them. It was a good way to spend time this afternoon, and I enjoyed it. ❤️
