Yesterday’s post described the process for deciding which products I’m starting with The Daily Artisan’s online store – and gave some backstory on the photographs and themes. Today we pick up with similar information on the notecard sets. Enjoy!
Note Card Set – Florals Collection #1
Share the beauty of nature’s gift of flowers with this set of floral note cards and envelopes. The folded note cards are 4.1” x 5.8”, and blank inside for your use with all occasions. They are professionally printed on high quality, sustainably sourced paper.
The same kind of comparative sourcing as done with the calendars was used for my note card sets. I tested the printing quality of my photographs; clean writability on the note cards; customer service; timely shipping, etc. For the note cards, I selected the printing company based in London, England with locations in the United States; the location I work with is in New Hampshire.
My earlier blog post “Starting My Small Business – Part 2: The Business Side” described my appreciation for rounded corners on greeting and note cards, and the new piece of equipment I bought for the cards I sell. After manually rounding (so far) more than 3,000 corners on note cards, I still prefer rounded corners!
The sustainably sourced paper for the note cards has a wonderful satin feel, and I’m pleased with how my photographs look on the card fronts. Here again as with the calendars, you can beautifully write on these cards without ink smudges and other such issues with cards made of glossy paper.
I shot the flowers for this note card set in many locations. Spending the day outdoors seeking out beautiful flowers to photograph is one of my favorite kinds of day. Colors and shapes are so varied from flower to flower, and I’m particularly inspired by their magnificence. Flowers are one of my favorite things to photograph!

Note Card Set – Fruits and Vegetables Collection #1
Share the beauty of nature’s bounty of fruits and vegetables with this set of note cards and envelopes. The folded note cards are 4.1” x 5.8”, and blank inside for your use with all occasions. They are professionally printed on high quality, sustainably sourced paper.
Photographing the fruits and vegetables for this note card set was done indoors. There are times when being in the field can yield interesting results for fruits and vegetables in their natural environment, but for the 2022 calendar and this note card set, I wanted to shoot them in a more controlled environment.
The 2022 Farm Fruits and Vegetables Calendar photographs are in horizontal format, while the different subjects for this note card set are vertical. I used a dramatic dark background for the note cards, and it nicely sets off the colorful fruits and vegetables. This was a lot of fun to shoot – and you can always enjoy the nutritious subjects when you’re finished photographing them!

Note Card Set – Breads and Desserts Collection #1
Share the sweetness of homemade baked breads and decorated scratch cakes and other desserts with this set of note cards and envelopes. The folded note cards are 4.1” x 5.8”, and blank inside for your use with all occasions. They are professionally printed on high quality, sustainably sourced paper.
Of everything I photograph, foods take the most time because I bake and cook all the items and style them. An earlier blog post “Welcome to The Daily Artisan!” talked about the generations of my family’s farming and how foods are made from scratch with all natural ingredients. No boxed cake mixes in my house! I really enjoyed baking the items you see in this note card set – homemade breads, mini-cakes, cookies, and galettes. Some upcoming posts will feature baking and decorating cakes – maybe their photographs will become part of a future set of note cards!

Note Card Set – The Beautiful Blues Collection #1
Share the beauty of shades of blue I discovered at Florida and Georgia beaches and lakes with this set of note cards and envelopes. The folded note cards are 4.1” x 5.8”, and blank inside for your use with all occasions. They are professionally printed on high quality, sustainably sourced paper.
If there’s something I derive more inspiration from than water, I don’t know what it would be! Water’s beauty is a feast for the eyes and a photographer’s dream. If I were to choose a most favorite setting, hands down it would be anywhere on a screened porch looking at and listening to water as dusk turns to nightfall – spectacular!
The photographs in 2022 The Beautiful Blues Calendar are horizontal orientation, while this note card set contains a mix of horizontals and verticals. See if you recognize where some of them were taken!
