Cooking For Family

This is from a dinner I cooked during our family-get-together-week for my mother’s birthday. It’s my favorite shrimp and grits, topped with bacon and chives. 

I also baked homemade artisan bread, with crispy crust on the outside and a soft crumb inside (piping hot and slathered with loads of butter) — as well as a chocolate espresso chess pie (which never made it to the photography stage)!
